Things Currently Making My Day.

  • Spring! Waking up to sunshine and birds chirping, is there anything so wonderful? This weather makes running and bike riding ideal. Mike has class most weeknights, but this Monday he had off, so we rode our bikes a few miles to Chipotle and the Apple store. It was all kinds of glorious.
Spring!
Flowering trees are my favorite.
  • The public library, where I can find an endless supply of of free issues of Vegetarian Times, sewing books, a ton of TV shows on DVD, Jodi Picoult novels, cookbooks, and a memoir to feed my obsession with Big Love. The best place ever.
  • Starting to train for a 10K race. I'll be able to cross off yet another goal. Running is so empowering. (Plus! Steph just started a 30 Day challenge. Perfection.)
  • In less than a month, I'll be at the BEACH after spending ten days in Texas. Heck yes, vacation!
  • New, cute dresses for said beach trip. I'm so looking forward to a tan, freckled version of myself in a adorable, summery dress.
  • A husband who still makes me giggle, sigh with happiness, and whistle (as in, "Haw-ttie!" after 20 months of marriage.
  • Free Chipotle tomorrow at work (Chipotle twice in one week. Be jealous.). It's, like, Cinco de Mayo ALL WEEK here!
  • Awesome sister is going to live at my parents' this summer instead of 2.5 hours away. Score! I love having my sisters close; the more often I see them, the better.
  • Free Starbucks gift cards through my Discover Card bonus rewards. I get a free gift card every few months, which I use to feed my elitist coffee obsession. Hazelnut lattes, iced coffee, and caramel macchiatos are my elixirs of choice. Yum.
  • This quote, which found in a bathroom stall in Ithaca, New York. It's sort of my new mantra:
My New Mantra.

  1. I'm so jealous of your sunshine! It has been raining here for what feels like a month straight... I am so ready for sunshiney days!

I might have to sign up for that 30 day challenge myself... maybe that'll be what I need to get myself to the gym on those days the couch looks so inviting.

  2. Apple store - I'm jealous. I've been longing for an iPhone now and I better stay away from the Apple store & AT&T store.

Good luck on your 10K race!

  7. Coffee Elitists unite!
I swear Starbucks has ruined me. I used to have a very SLIGHT addiction. Now? They've reeled me in and claimed my life! I can't ever NOT work there anymore or I'll never be able to afford my drug. LOL!!
i love the graphic you made out of the quote!!
I need to pay my library fines and get my butt back to the library, I haven't been in almost 4 months! Thats just too long.

Your library sounds awesome. So does that coffee. I have to go check my Discover card for that Starbucks stuff. :)

  13. Wow, very powerful quote. Definitely something to remember. :]

& good for you for doing a 10k! I loathe running (but I wish I didn't) so I'll just live vicariously through you. ;]

  15. Oooohhhh! Training for a 10k! Freaking awesome! I hope to do a 5k within the next few months, and for some reason it totally freaks me out, even though I know I can totally run that far now. I guess for some reason, I'm just intimidated by it. Bleh. Anyway, let us know how the training goes!

    Also:

    1. I'm totally a fan of the library, too. I'm never buying another book, ever. (Maybe.) :) And I really want to read that memoir you linked to! Let us know how it is.

    2. Hurrah for a happy marriage to a haw-ttie!

    3. I love that a quote from a bathroom stall is your new mantra. Heehee. I only see seriously graphic or disturbing things carved in bathroom stalls. There will be no turning those into cute graphics. :)

    4. Confession: you are definitely someone who I wish lived around the corner, so we could head over for some elitist coffee and talk of crafting and married life. Ah, well. Someday...

  16. Yay for things going so well! I've been meaning to ask: when is your 10K race? That's great that you're training for one. I've been wanting to find a good 10K around here (but obviously not looking hard, it's the bay area, there are races like every weekend haha). But it's like the perfect length. More of a challenge than a 5K, and a good start for training for a half marathon.

Plus any day with Chipotle is definitely a great day
