Tomorrow is my first day as Ms. Lastname.
Tomorrow I begin my first job that I get a real salary (as opposed to an hourly or AmeriCorps wage).
Tomorrow I begin a new identity as a high school staff member.
Tomorrow I begin being mistaken for a high schooler on a regular basis.
Tomorrow I attempt to hide my nose stud with a clear one.
Tomorrow I begin working 40+ hour weeks again.
Tomorrow, I begin commuting. Quite a long one, actually.
Tomorrow, I try to remember that I am lucky to have a new job.
Today, I am enjoying being Ashley who lays around drinking coffee and reading Jodi Picoult novels.
Today, I am nervous about tomorrow.

Good luck, sweetie :) You're going to do great! I worked in the counseling office of two different high schools and was FREQUENTLY mistaken for students. I was like, 24. Good luck w/ that! :)
ReplyDeleteWow I can't believe it's already tomorrow! Good luck, it will be great, and I can't wait to hear all about your first day
ReplyDeleteGood luck and have fun! How long is your commute? Mine is 30 min. each way, all on the Interstate, which is no fun. I'm trying to brainstorm ways to make it more bearable. So far I've come up with: get new car.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to do great! I think the students are your new school at going to love you. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! You will be awesome. The first day at any job is always scary. And don't worry about being mistaken for a high school student...I have to do home visits before my students start school, and I've actually had parents ask to see my diploma before because they didn't believe I was old enough to be their child's teacher!
ReplyDeleteyou are going to be awesome! good luck!
ReplyDeleteOne of my customers at the coffee shop asked me if I was a high school student last week. Hey, looking young is better than looking extra old!! Good luck, lady, I'm SO excited for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm a teacher at a middle school and I'm forever accused of not fulfilling my supervision duties because it's so common that I'm mistaken for a student!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to do great! Best of luck!
Good luck with it all. :)
ReplyDeleteaw that is so exciting. good luck!

ReplyDeletegood luck today! :) my commute is about 45mins each way. you get used to it and it's nice to have quiet after a day at work at least that's what i tell myself haha
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI hope that your new firsts were amazing. Because giving up lazily reading Jodi Picoult - now THAT is hard work.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I hope everything goes well tomorrow. At least you are not working with middle schoolers and getting mistaken for one of them like I often do. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAhhh I hope you're having a great first day!!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to do great! No worries. :] & the clear stud is excellent. I couldn't even tell you had it in.
ReplyDeleteSqueeee! Wishing you all the best on your first day. xx
ReplyDeleteI bet you were the bomb digity :) I still have your pillow...hopefully I will see you sometime soonish to give it back :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I hope it's great! I'd tell you not to be nervous, but I think it would be abnormal not to be a teeny tiny bit nervous. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteEee! I am totally late on reading this but I bet you are rockin the heck out of that job!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear more about it! :D
I hope it went well and that you like it!!!
ReplyDelete(P.S. Last fall when I was student teaching, I thought the one Spanish teacher was a student. It even happens to those of us who are often mistaken for students ourselves.)
I know I'm late, but I hope the first day back to school went well and that you enjoyed yourself. I know you are going to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!!
