Worth it Wednesday: Wearing My Heart Around My Neck.

Since I'm Spreading the Love this month (along with some other lovely ladies over there in my sidebar), my Worth It Wednesdays are all going to be about Etsy. Yay!

This was actually the very first purchase I ever made on Etsy. I was feeling a little homesick for where I went to college and lived for 5 years (my longest consecutive stay EVER). I typed the city into Etsy and found this adorable pendent from Recycled Design.

It's made from a Scrabble tile and an old atlas and is coated with lots of resin for a shiny, sturdy little picture.

Worth: The pendent was only $5.50. I just put it on a thin silver strand I had.

Works For: There is something for everyone. Her store has all kinds of pendents with map pieces and photos. If I'd gone to Japan, I'd love that one. And I'm going to El Paso at least once this year - maybe I'll get this! I also looove this Paris pendent.

What I Love: It's recycled, it's sturdy, it's bright, and it is a cute and subtle memento of my love for southwest Ohio. (Am I totally lame? Wait. Don't answer that. I tend to be wistful all too often.)

necklace.
Me today - my shirt matches Kentucky! And...pay no attention to the ugly color of our carpet. Thank you. Move along.

  4. This is so cute! My sister and I have a deal where we will be going to London when she graduates from high school in three years. We came up with this when she was 5 or so--seriously. So, for Christmas this year, I found a necklace very much like that one on Etsy, only it had an airplane charm attached. I loved it, and I loved that it came from Etsy!

    Great find!

  6. That is cute! And I think I have the same sweater, too, in blue. I wore it with the heart necklace that I got from Etsy crafter ThunderCrafts last month, for my graduation photo. (Just missed your Etsy idea by a few weeks!)
