- With all the hubbub around our recent road trip and starting my new job, I nearly forgot about our upcoming anniversary trip to Chicago. We're leaving today and will be back Wednesday. Mike pretends it's to celebrate our two years of marriage, but I know it's just good timing; we're going to see a Phish concert in Chicago on our anniversary. Yes, I am the best wife ever. I've never been to a Phish show, but they've been Mike's favorite band since he was in high school and are doing a reunion tour. I'm equal parts nervous and excited to go to the show. I'm hoping his promises of grilled cheese being sold in the parking lot is true. And the rumored copious amount of drugs is not.
- I'm holding a little giveaway over here - $50 to Gap, anyone? Come see my attempts to pull off a pair of skinny jeans while you're at it!
- We are a family that loves our family reunions - every year. When I was growing up, I thought this was normal. It wasn't until recently that I discovered many families do not, in fact, have giant potlucks every summer - complete with planned games and, if you're lucky, a talent show. Our latest family reunion was last weekend:
- A bajillion women in my life are pregnant right now - two college roommates, two aunts, my cousin, my coworker...And even though I'm very certain that I am happy being child-free and the many benefits there are not having a baby right now (Um, did you SEE that road trip we just took? Can't imagine towing around a baby on that. Plus, I love taking a nap whenever I want. Or crashing as soon as I get home from work. Or laying in bed all day reading. Yes - I am too lazy for children.) - sometimes I still think of how fun it would be to have a baby. How cute pregnant women look. How adorable a little baby is...and my cute cousins? NOT HELPING.
The great-grand-children - half of these are my cousins and the other half are...second cousins?
I know what you mean about the kids- tons of people in my life are pregnant or have new babies too. So cute and yet so much work.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the concert.
Have fun in Chicago!
ReplyDeleteSeeing adorable photos like that don't help me either! :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Chicago!
I totally have family reunions every summer - 1st weekend in August every year!
ReplyDeleteMy family just had it's 50th reunion this year and it was crazy, 300 people showed up and that wasn't even everyone.
Yay for family reunions!
ReplyDeleteHappy wedding anniversary & trip! Yeah, we have a big family reunion on my mom's side of the family, every year, down the shore. It can be a lot of people in one place!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! A anniversary trip! I like it and hope y'all are having a fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteI feel like you and babies is like me and women I know getting engaged/married. It's not time for that just yet, but I cannot help but think it sounds amazing!
