Enough of this Narcissism! Let's Talk About You.

Photobucket

Lovelies!

Today is (National? International? Blogosphere-ical?) Delurking Day. I’ve never participated in a one of these, but I am curious: Who are you people?

I’m also going to add this as a permanent link on the sidebar where readers can introduce themselves. I’ve connected with a lot of you, but I’d love to know more about the people who are kind enough to drop by my little website.

So, whether you're a regular commenter, a dear friend, or a new reader who just lurks about (I promise not to be creeped out by that image), I'd be delighted if you'd take a moment to leave a comment and introduce yourself.

Answer one, two, or all of these:

· Where are you from?

· Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?

· What book changed your life?

· If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?

· Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?

· What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?

I can’t wait to hear from you, wonderful people.

  1. Hi, Ashley! I just noticed you added this to your side bar thingie and while I answered these questions a while ago, I figured I'd answer them here too and be your first commenter. ^_^

    · Where are you from? - I was born in Illinois, but I live in and consider the West home.

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day? - I'm addicted to my wife Jen, the internet and coffee. I normally try to make sure I watch Malcolm in the Middle and The Sopranos every day. I also play with our kitty, play with our Betta fish and job hunt. The best part of my day is spending time with Jen!

    · What book changed your life? - Harry Potter. It's how I met my wife! ^_^

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about? http://lariatsandlavender.blogspot.com/ my blog is personal, honest and random. I write about myself, my wife, our pets, our families, job hunting, my hobbies, my interests, memes and other random stuff.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice? - My favorite thing to eat is ANYTHING home made, especially if it's my wife's cooking. My favorites include her BBQ cheeseburgers, Italian food, Asian food, Southern food and scrambled eggs!

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next? - Comedy: Still Standing - Drama: The Sopranos - Action/War: Band of Brothers.

Oh and! My name is Angela. :)

  2. Hello! I just discovered your blog last night and loved the posts I read. Sadly, I don't have a blog of my own (read: don't know what the heck I would talk about) but think about starting one all the time.

Let's see, a little about myself, huh? My name is Erin and it appears I've turned 26 today. I'm working on my PhD in archaeology at the University of Kansas but split my time between Lawrence and Lincoln, Nebraska where my family and boyfriend live. It's not a terrible system but I look forward to living in the same town as my significant other in a year or so! Other than school, I'm a runner, I volunteer at a cat shelter, I'm a huge, huge Red Sox fan, and love cooking with my boyfriend.

Now to your questions above... I would absolutely recommend any HBO show on DVD. You've already mentioned Big Love (I hate Nicki too! Seriously, what is up with her?) so let me share that I just got hooked on Rome. Also, I'm about four seasons into Six Feet Under. Some days I'm really into that show and other days, I'm completely creeped out and annoyed by the characters. Also, for non-HBO awesomeness, The Office gets my vote.

I think that's about enough sharing since this comment is probably entirely too long as it is. Thanks for letting me tell you about myself and for the welcome to reading your blog. Best of luck with baby and everything else!

  3. Where are you from? New York..not the city. A Podunk town with white picket fences.

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?

I wake at 5:30 get dressed and leave the house to attend an early morning scripture study class through my church that starts at 6:00 and ends at 7:55 At 7:00 i get to school and hang until the bell rings. Then i follow my HS schedule (ABCD day rotation). After School I stay after for yearbook, creative writing or go home and relax...aka blog, do homework ect. On Tuesday nights at 7:00 i got to church for Youth group.

    · What book changed your life? The Book Of Mormon, New Testament and "17 minutes."

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about? http://www.liz.dementedsquirrel.com. I blog on life, my problems and include random things I have written. No one really reads my blog which can be nice because I don't feel as restricted. My parents, family and friends have no idea about it....and a few online people do. Once in a while I'll get a comment but usually its slow.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
I love apples. I go home everyday and I'll have 3 apples. I don't drink coffee.

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next? Gilmore Girls, Medium.

  4. Hey there Ashley!!
I just stumbled onto your blog, and I got instantly hooked on your style. There's something very honest and genuine about the way you write. Also, should I ever become pregs, I really hope I am as cute as you are about it. But really, I swear I'm not a creeper.
    So let me introduce myself...

Where am I from? For me, this is a rather difficult question to answer. I grew up in Seattle, but moved to Paris right out of high school with my parents. I have spent most of my 20s in Paris, but my parents are now in London. Most of my extended family is in California. So when I go home for the holidays, it can be in a lot of different places.

My daily life just changed completely. I just completed a double masters degree (half in an american program, half in a french program) in international relations and conflict resolution. It's a big fancy title on my resume, but now I am job-hunting and that's a bit scary. I try to blog everyday, though with finishing the masters that has been a bit more difficult as of late. I have a French bulldog that bums around with me everywhere that I travel. I am currently in Zurich, dealing with some things-but it involves boys and drama, so I will spare you deets on that.

    The Alchemist changed my life.

My url is http://wanderingmenace.wordpress.com/. I write about my adventures in traveling, in childhood, and with my dog. I tend to avoid writing about my love life, and focus a lot on the many interesting characters and situations that I stumble upon.

I LOVE cooking and am a huge foodie. Am always hunting down something new to try. I adore soooo many things from homemade guacamole to confit de canard to sushi. Basically, I love to eat. I visit Starbucks daily, regardless of the city I am in (except when I was in Africa-cause it wasn't there), sometimes I go for a latte, sometimes a black coffee with room for milk. Depends on my mood.

I get hooked on TV like it's my job. It's kinda pathetic, actually. I love love love arrested development, and modern family. Seriously good laughs. I also still watch Lost, though I have no clue what's going on, and 24 because I'm pretty sure I could have been a Jack Bauer type bad-ass had I applied myself better in early life.

    Anyway,
I really like your blog, and I'll be reading. Nice to meet you.

  5. Hey Ashley! I just found your blog and love it!

    Where are you from?
Omaha, NE. The middle of the country, and the middle of nowhere. We like it here. Life moves slowly; it's nice.

Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?

I am a newlywed, so the most exciting part of my day is enjoying my husband's company. I am also a student. I'm studying secondary education and will begin student teaching in the Fall. I am really looking forward to getting into the classroom and helping kids learn, and learning myself as well.

    · What book changed your life?

Oh gosh. I read all the time. If you check out my blog you can read tons of book reviews. My faves are Time Traveler's Wife, The Alchemist, Jane Eyre, and The City of Ember.

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?

    http://aleeanddan.blogspot.com
I write about our newlywed adventures, running, reading, teaching, and random fun.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?

Good question. I like to try new things, but still enjoy a good pb&j as well. I'm up for anything, but chocolate always wins. I find that venti frappuccinos can fix almost anything. :)

  8. Hey!

So I've been reading your blog for a while now but I must have missed this post. I just noticed the link on the sidebar and decided now was as good a time as any to introduce myself.

I'm from Southeast MI, the suburbs, not Detroit.

Right now my daily life consists of making moments with our 5 month old daughter doing whatever she wants and trying to find some quality time with my husband now that we have become parents. I think my favorite part of each day is when my husband brings our daughter into our room before he leaves for work and kisses us both goodbye. Also, when our daughter wakes up and just chats at me first thing in the morning. Best way to wake up now a days.

I don't think I've had a life changing experience from a book, but He's Just Not That Into You was great for when I was still on the dating scene!

You can find snippets of my family's life at http://thewilliamsroost.blogspot.com

I mainly write about our finances, trying to live a simple life, struggles and victories, and our cute little girl.

I've also started a little side project called What's Mine Is Yours, you can find that here:
    http://wmiy-whatsmineisyours.blogspot.com/

I'm not much of a foodie, though I'll admit while pregnant my cravings were for Froot Loops and Slurpees (Coke flavor only!)

One of my favorite DVD TV series is The Wire. I also really enjoyed Mad Men and Big Love.

Well that's a bit about me and I look forward to learning more about you as I continue to follow the blog.

Oh and congrats on the pregnancy! You look gorgeous pregnant!

  9. I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago and added you on twitter (I'm beccasanborn) so I thought I should delurk here as well. :)

    - Where are you from? I am from Tennessee, more specifically, I live in Middle Tennessee, 30 minutes southeast of Nashville in the exact center of TN, aka Murfreesboro.

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?
I am married, but I am also currently in nursing school so usually it consists of wake up, go to school or work (I work at school), do either or both during the day... and then come home, spend time with husband, go to sleep. Rinse, repeat.

    · What book changed your life?
A Ring of Endless Light by Madeleine L'Engle

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?
grayandbecca.com - I usually blog about what is going on in our lives, it varies.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
I love potatoes... have I mentioned I'm Irish?

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?

  11. Hello!
So I have to admit, I guess I'd fall into the lurking category! Started my very first blog in January as an attempt to hold myself to my new years goals. Not sure how successful I've been- I kind of blog for a few weeks then fall offline for a while. Anyways, while randomly checking out other blogs- either by hitting the "next blog" button or checking out blogs other people I know follow, I ran across yours and loved it. I so look forward to the time when I will be starting my own family, and I was so intrigued by the idea of following someone else as they get closer and closer to that time in their own lives! I haven't checked out all your archived posts, so I don't know how long before the good news you've been blogging- I'm sure I'll take a look one day. But for now you are "the pregnant blogger" in my head! Anyways, this is another return to the blogosphere and I noticed this on your sidebar and thought I'd say hey!

    · Where are you from?
-Originally, Texas. But I've been in Atlanta for the majority of my life and still work/live here.

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?
-I'm in HR right now, so my typical day is pretty boring. Get up just in time to get to work, sit at a desk all day, get off at 4:30 and by 5 or 6 I'm normally either at a friends, on my way up to my boyfriend's place, or watching tv at home. I seem to always be busy and when I think back on my life I'm not sure what with! But without a doubt, whatever I fill those after-business hours with would be my fave part of the day!

    · What book changed your life?
-I LOVE reading- fiction mostly, and no particular genre. Right now I'm on a fantasy kick. But I'm also reading A Million Miles in a Thousand Years right now- on loan from a friend after I told her I'm having trouble finding my way in life right now. I'm just a few pages in but it's given me great perspective already! I'm really looking forward to everything else it has to offer!

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?
-My URL is http://hayhay321.blogspot.com/ and I write about whatever I have going on in life. Right now it's a little bit about a lot of different things!

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
-Pretty much anything chocolate or anything cheese!

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?
-I'm an ABC primetime junkie myself. You'd probably already be watching anything I watch if it interested you at all.

So that's it! Just wanted to say hi! Looking forward to future posts!

"A Severe Mercy" changed my life. Not sure how to explain it...just read it...It is a very beautiful autobiography.

  13. Like many, I stumbled across your blog. I was looking up "bruised ribs pregnancy", as I am only 3 days away from my Due Date.

I believe I may become a regular reader as we're both so close in Due Dates, and it will be nice to share a common sense bond regarding new motherhood.

My blog is http://tiffytopia.blogspot.com/ where I've been quite consumed by my pregnancy, as well (I don't believe any woman who says she isn't). Obviously my future blogging will revolve around baby, though I'll try and maintain some balance. This will be my first baby, so we'll see how well I do with that!

TV recommendations seem moot at this point as we're both going to be so busy with Baby that the DVR will probably explode from all the unwatched episodes of new seasons of Gray's Anatomy and the reality shows I can't get enough of.

Good luck with labour! I'm a little paranoid about my rib pain and whether or not it will ease up once the baby drops (which doesn't appear to have happened). Like you, I am also in no rush to have this baby, but would love people to stop hovering and asking the questions.

  16. Hello! I came across your blog through one of my friends and I just can't stop reading! I love reading all of your different ways to save money! I just had a baby boy in April so I really enjoyed reading about your pregnancy and now about your adventures as a new mommy! I follow you on Twitter and enjoy all your cute little updates about your sweet boy. : )

    So, questions, lets see...

    Where are you from?
I'm from Missouri, born and raised. I absolutely love it here and would never want to move elsewhere!

Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?
I stay home full time with my son and LOVE it! I feed and play with him throughout the day all while trying to keep our small apartment clean, definitely a difficult task! Nursing Colt throughout the day is my favorite thing, it forces me to sit down and relax! I spend too much time online, but there's just too many things to look at and read! Oh, I also love cooking and baking and try to one of both each day!

If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?
I started my blog while I was pregnant, sort of like a journal and now I write about my son and all of his cuteness! Here's my URL: www.mama-mason.blogspot.com

  17. I came through your blog from Twitter and I love the pics of you and your baby. My name is Natasha Hollerup and I'm going to answer these questions for you.

    - Where are you from?

I'm from Milwaukee, WI - born and bred there. I hated it growing up but now that some parts are dwindling and some parts are improving, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

    - Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?

My daily life is pretty much boring. I sit in front of the computer all day either writing, tweeting, messing with iTunes or doing homework. I also go to the library and I have a CPR/First Aid class on Thursdays.

    - What book changed your life?

The Stand by Stephen King. I didn't even know it changed my life and I don't really know how it changed my life, but that book provided one of the biggest significant moments in my life, which is my enjoyment of all books. My mom read it when I was young and then, there was the mini-series, which I watched when I was about 8 or 9. When I was 12, my mom gave me her copy to read.

    - If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?

My URL is http://thebankofmylife.wordpress.com. I write about my life and what is going on right now such as my breakup and school. I have weekly posts as well such as "...As I Know It" on Tuesdays and "Book ADD" on Sundays.

    - Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?

I love spaghetti, and I always have. My life would be complete with spaghetti. My favorite drink is the Passion Tea Lemonade from Starbucks or a Strawberry Raspberry Homemade soda from Seattle's Best (in Borders).

    - What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?

Either Roswell or Buffy. Roswell was so good until the third season. As for Buffy, I'm just a Joss Whedon geek.

I look forward to seeing more posts with your great pics.

  18. Hi Ashley,

I stumbled upon your blog a little while back when Danielle Bean linked to it. Anywho, I have lurked for a while, less because of being creepy and more because I never have anything to say and usually have a nursing toddler climb on my lap and try to push buttons on the computer while nursing (genius baby, I tell you!) if I try to sit down and type. I am somewhat new to the blog world and am just discovering that people have "introduce yourself" places or an option to email. Much better for me. I feel like I should introduce myself before I become some random person leaving a comment. Also, I like to see if I may actually continue reading the blog past a few posts before I introduce myself. I really like your stuff about green living. I'm so not a tree-hugger - I couldn't feel less emotional about the earth for the earth's sake (sorry) BUT I am a stay at home mom to 2 toddler girls (yay!) and my husband is a youth minister, and I like to live simply and stretch our pennies and do things as naturally as possible, so your writing is right up my alley! I'm excited to read any future posts about cloth-diapering. Maybe you will win me as a revert. I tried it for a year with my older daughter and I really wanted to be able to say things like "they leaked so much less than disposables!" and "they're so much less irritating on her bum!" and "it's so easy!" but I found none of those things to be true, and quite the opposite. Somewhat cheaper, yes, but opposite for all of the above. So, when I found myself pregnant, still nursing a toddler, and moving into our first home (other than an apartment, and definitely a fixer-upper), I gave it up. I'd love to try again with a future baby and have the opposite experience, though

    Here goes...

Answer one, two, or all of these:

I'm originally from a somewhat small town in Illinois and we now live in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago (love that city!). I am married to my best friend, who I met in college. I was a social worker and now I'm a stay at home mom to my 2 wonderful girls and could care less if I ever go back for the rest of my life. This is right where I'm supposed to be right now, and we'd love a whole bunch if we're blessed with that many.

I'm Catholic and my faith is very important to me. I try to stay involved with some mom's stuff at our parish and I know some great ladies through that, some of whom we have playdates (not stuffy, organized ones - just let our kids play while we sit on the floor and talk). My favorite part of the day is the morning when my husband and I get up and work out a little bit together and then I have coffee (yes!) and pray a bit.

That's all I got time for.

  22. Hi, Ashley! I've been posting off and on for a while, but I just now noticed this page. You are truly inspiring. A little about me:

Where are you from? - Anywhere and everywhere. My family's moved around a lot over time, and now I'm married to a Navy man, so we pick up and move every couple of years. I was born in WA.

Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day? - During the week, I teach English at a community college and I volunteer in an ESL class for foreign military spouses. I think my favorite part of each day is the time I spend chatting with colleagues or the time I spend knitting while watching movies at home.

What book changed your life? - Currently, it's the book The Element by Ken Robinson. Actually, his lectures were probably more influential, but the book's good too.

If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about? - http://kate-simply.blogspot.com I used to have a personal blog, but now I just have this blog about my journey towards a more simple life.

What TV show on DVD should I start watching next? - My husband and I recently watched Firefly for the first time, and it's the best show ever. I can't believe it only lasted one season! We're part of the "cult following" now.

Thanks for being such a dedicated Blogger, Ashley.

  23. Hi! I've been reading your blog for a while and you're definitely in my top 5. :) That is, one of the top five people I feel I can relate to, somehow. I'm Melissa. :) And let's see ... I'm supposed to introduce myself, sooo ... I'm 24, just married this past May ... as for the questions you've posed:

    · Where are you from?
Indiana. Well, Texas really. But Indiana now, forever. :)

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?
Monday through Friday I work in a classroom for an organization that helps at-risk (of what?) kids to navigate life after high school, get jobs, etc. I adore teens. But that's just my day-job. I've been building a photography business over the course of about a year (melissaglidden.blogspot.com) so that's the other half of my life right there. Generally speaking, my days are full of dreaming rather than moment-living (I'm kinda bad at that) because I want so badly to come back home and own my own home based photography business, mentor teens (free of charge) and ... I want a baby sooo bad ... but my husband is still finishing up his bachelor's and we've both agreed that a baby is not the right thing right now. (But it would FEEL so right, a cuddly little mini-us...sigh. Moving on.)

    · What book changed your life?
Haha, Harry Potter. And the Bible.

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?
I have a blog about being a Texan living in the Midwest (www.howdyhoosier.com) though it's not like I post every day about cooking chili and my new in-laws thinking it's too spicy ... it's more like me just being cold all the time. And being thankful, every day.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
I could eat Texas Roadhouse rolls with ranch dressing constantly, forever. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I am addicted to Diet Coke, something I actually struggle with quitting everyday. One day...!

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?
If you haven't watched Dexter yet ... you're in for a treat.

    :)

  24. · Where are you from?
I'm from Canada (currently near Vancouver, originally from a prairie-city called Winnipeg)

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?
I work for a private college (in scheduling/administration) during the week - I've been there about 6 months now and like it a lot but it's definitely not my dream job. On weekends I make jewelry (dream job), bake, take pictures, and hang out with my hubby and cat. Even though I'm not a morning person, my favorite part of the day is getting up early to have breaky with my husband and our car ride to work because he always plays the kookiest songs on the stereo and signs LOUDLY along the entire way (today it was Rich Girl by Hall & Oates) - it's only a five minute drive before he drops me off but it honestly gives me a reason to get up in the mornings!

    · What book changed your life?
It's a tie between 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel and 'The Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?
    http://suzyville.blogspot.com
I don't post super often anymore (maybe once a week if I'm lucky) since I started my new job but I basically write about daily things I'm up to, I've made, or art/product stuff I've found that I want to share, thing I find amusing, etc - yeah, not super exciting.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
    I love Thai food.
    And pizza.
I also love red wine and real movie theater popcorn.
And grande half-sweet pumpkin spice americanos ;)

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?
Dexter and/or Six Feet Under and/or Carnivale.
Pushing Daisies was pretty cute, and different.
Or if you can find it - there was once a show called "Wonderfalls" that only lasted a season or two, I think, it may have been Canadian, but it was quite good, cute and unique at the time (and probably more kid-friendly than the others).
Or for a good classic - Felicity - it's my all time fave.

    Thanks, that was fun!

  25. Hi Ashley, I'm commenting now because I've been reading your blog for a few weeks and wanted to tell you how comforting it is to read some of your stories, concerns, and worries. My mom told me about your blog when I told her I was (surprise!) a few weeks pregnant and due in July. I am 23 and live with my fiance in Washington DC but we are from MI, originally. My mom thought I could pick up a few tips on living simply with a baby in a 1 bedroom apartment, which we will have until our lease runs out (after the baby is born). I primarily read your blog at this point because I enjoy reading about how happy the baby has made you and your husband. And how joyous the entire thing has been for you.

Our baby is a welcome surprise as well, but it feels seriously scary sometimes. I have worries about it being the "right time". I just wanted to let you know that your blog has helped me move to feelings of excitement and happiness at our new addition and further away from nervousness and anxiety.

Thanks for that, and I will definitely continue reading!

    · Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?

*I recently quit my job because of my pregnancy nausea, I worked with kids and was constantly sick. A typical day involves planning various aspects of my wedding, which is in 3 months.

    · What book changed your life?

*She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?

    * I love sushi (only vegetarian for me now) and Thai food.

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?

    30 Rock

My drink of choice is water(I'm a recovering Coca Cola addict) and tea.

    · What TV show on DVD should I start watching next? My favorite show is Criminal Minds. So amazing, but some of the stories are kind of disturbing. A more happy show that I like is Big Bang Theory. Absolutely hilarious!

  29. Hi Ashley, I found your blog through Rachel Balducci's twitter feed on Testosterhome. Odd, I know :) But I'm glad I found it- I enjoy reading and the pics!

I'm from Florida, the Gulf Coast. It's so wonderful to live in the only state that doesn't get snow! (Although, I wish we got honorary snow days.)

I am a momma to one awesome one year old little man. I work at home 40+ hours a week, so little man goes to "school" and loves it. Then we play hard until bedtime!

I just finished reading Redeeming Love and thought it was fantastic. My all-time favorite is probably Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge.

I am a beginner blogger- you can check me out at www.lifeisaboutlove.com. I just blog about our live and I loko forward to when little man is old enough to read & enjoy it someday!

I LOVE chai tea lattes :) And black coffee.

    Have a wonderful day!

  30. Hi Ashley!

I have been lurking for a while (reading about your pregnancy and the birth story) and I have recently been going through your archives -- and I'm smacking myself for not having done so sooner. Your writing is delightful! I found your blog through the Catholic ladies - Arwen, Maggie, Lauren. Catholics unite! :)

    · I live in Ottawa (Canada's capital) but I was born in Montreal and grew up just outside of Toronto. I am a huge fan of travel - I've been to 9 provinces, 34 states and over 30 countries. I'm headed to my 5th continent (South America) in a few weeks.

    · I am married to an amazing guy named Dave. We got married one week after my 27th birthday (Oct. 9, 2004). We've known each other since elementary school (St. Francis of Assisi was the patron). We have two beautiful kids - Edward Vincent (Teddy) born Jan. 20, 2009 and Veronica Floriana born one week before Gabe (Aug. 24th). I work for the federal government, but am currently on maternity leave. I plan to blog about the system here in Canada in the near future, if you are curious.

    · I blog at EIEIO ( www.smacdo03.blogspot.com ). It's primarily about my life - my kids and family, cloth diapering, travelling, my love of "Veronica Mars" and other TV. That sort of stuff.

    · I am so sad - since my first pregnancy, I haven't been able to handle coffee as it kills my stomach. I can still drink tea, though. I'm CHEAP, so I am a brew-it-myself kind of girl.

    · Hmm - TV on DVD. I, too, loved "Friends", the aforementioned "Veronica Mars", "Arrested Development" and "Gilmore Girls". I still love "The Office", "30 Rock", and "Modern Family". I also love gritty stuff like "The Wire". We've just gotten into "Friday Night Lights", too. But I am going to recommend some older ones - "Felicity" and "Alias" are fantastic and fun. Check them out if you haven't already.

  31. Hi Ashley,
I was just browsing the archives of your blog and came across this "get to know you" post. What a crazy good idea! So here's my introduction...

    - I'm from Southern California. Born here and have relocated to various local cities. Currently calling Long Beach home, and I can say it's probably my favorite spot yet.

    - Currently my daily life is getting up & heading to an office job as a designer for an architect. Where I spend the day working on projects w/o much interest and daydreaming about making my side business as an invitation designer into my full time job! Then after work I try to cram cooking (my favorite past-time), designing, socializing, exercising, and spending time w/ my lovely boyfriend before going to bed and starting all over the next day! Thank goodness for weekends, right?

    - I can't say that a book has changed my life. Though up until college I was an avid reader of pretty much any fiction I could get my hands on. I'm making a point of diving back into books now and I've found that I really enjoy anything related to food and the culinary/restaurant industry. I'm learning that non-fiction is my new best friend!

    - I am a fellow blogger. I have two actually. One for my wedding invitation business. I've been a slacker in that department but am trying to refocus. The other I started quite recently and share the writing responsibilities with the man in my life. We started it as a way to document our random activities to share them with friends and family that we don't see much of. Photography is a hobby of both of ours so it's a good place to put some of our photos out into the world. It's also given me the opportunity to really focus on some goals that I listed on my 101 in 1001. Posting them out there for people to read is making me accountable!

    - Food is one of my passions. Cooking is my #1 hobby. I can't say that I have a favorite food. But, i'm addicted to iced tea. I guess it's my "coffee".

    - I don't watch a ton of tv. Since moving into my latest apartment I've decided to get cheap and not get cable or satellite. However, I do download episodes of Top Chef on itunes. It's my favorite of all shows. That and The Amazing Race. Love it!

Thanks for having such a lovely blog. I really enjoy your writing style. :)
    Sarah

  32. Hi Ashley, nice blog!

I'm Anna from Toronto, Ontario. I currently study Pharmacy at the University of Toronto, on track to graduate next year. Before Pharmacy I did my undergrad in physics, where in my very first calculus class of first year (over five years ago) I met my now-fiance who is now on track to be a Chiropractor. We live in an apartment in Toronto now and are getting married in August 2011.

I commute each day to school at a different time (you can catch me at the bus stop at 7am or even noon), and then I get off at the subway station and take half an hour to study before getting off at my stop and walking to school. I don't particularly like my big downtown campus, but I love my program.

Every Sunday I go out and buy $20-30 of fresh veggies (green peppers, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, cauiflower, broccoli, carrots) and chop and mix them up into 14 tupperware containers, enough to last me and my fiance once each for a whole week. It's an awesome way to keep up with the veggies, and I find we haven't had to throw out a single veggie since we started doing this.

Anyway, that's me. Keep up the good work at your blog!

  33. Hi, Ashley!

First, I love your baby! You must get that all the time from creepy people.

    I'm from New Jersey.

My daily life is either working or staying at home. I rarely leave home on my days off. My favorite part of each day is being with my fiance. Either that, or sleeping. I really like to sleep.

I can't say that one book in particular changed my life. But I majored in sociology in college, so most of what I read changed my "life", or at least my opinion of things.

I blog at shefromjersey.com. I blog about everything, but mostly nothing. Being engaged, my fiance going to the air force, how i hate my job, blah, blah blah.

My favorite thing to eat is bacon. I love bacon. I freaking love bacon!!!!

I watch a lot of trashy shows. Like, "Teen Mom", "Jerseylicious", and anything Kardashians. You probably should avoid them, unless you like trashy shows.

  34. Hi there!
I noticed this link on your blog after discovering your URL on StephanyWrites. You're a fantastic writer! Anyway thought I'd just say hi since I've been commenting all over the place.

My name is Melissa and I'm 21 years old. You can read me over at www.imlivinginadream.wordpress.com

I'm a University student working towards a Business degree and I am in love with music! Favorite food? I LOVE food. That question is too hard to answer, seriously! I'd have to say anything breakfast though, favorite meal of the day by far.

Looking forward to reading more about you! :)

  35. Hello Ashley. I stumbled upon your blog, via twitter (@tashablogs) and started reading thru. Your little boy is adorable beyond words :)

Now, I will answer your questions :)

    [Where are you from?]

I was born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in Toronto, Ontario.

[Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?]

Currently, I'm in a rut and I'm trying to sort my certain aspects of my life out. I mainly do the following:

    - job hunt
    - walk for 30 minutes each day
    - blog and blog stalk

and that's pretty much it, for now at least.

    [What book changed your life?]

Honestly? No book has changed my life

[If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about?]

My url is: http://tashablogs.blogspot.com and I blog about my ups and downs, random things, such as movies or books, things I like and stuff that annoys me.

[Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?]

Favorite thing to eat: I good food and good company [in that order is nice too]. I am a very picky/fussy eater and so I won't eat anything.

If I have to narrow down what I like, than I'd have to say

    - anything Italian
    - cheese (odd obsession)
    - chocolate
    - I love Thai food!

I could go on and on...but I'm not gonna

    Coffee drink of choice: Starbucks!!

[What TV show on DVD should I start watching next?]

TV show: House (hands down) NCIS: Los Angeles. The Good Wife. Blue Bloods. CSI and CSI: New York.

I think that's it, I'm picky with shows too haha.

I look forward to reading more of your blog and I will definitely be following you on twitter and your blog!

  37. Hi!

My name is Janet, and your blog was passed onto me from a friend, as we were pregnant at the same time and she thought I would be interested (and I was!). Yours was the first blog I really caught on to, and have recently started my own now.

    Where are you from?
A little farm in the middle of nowhere, Ontario Canada. And love it! (Even if it's not as warm out right now as it should be....)

Tell me a little bit about your daily life: what is a typical day like for you? What's your favorite part of each day?

Well I have an almost-7-month old named Hannah, so the majority of my day is spent with her - and my favourite part of the day is waking up to her babbling and smiles. I am also farming with my husband and my inlaws, so I spend a a decent chunk of my week taking care of the pigs and doing farm related stuff.

    What book changed your life?
Sooooo many books have that I definetly can't pinpoint one. I love Jodi Picoult as an author though.

If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL?
    http://www.livingthedream-janet.blogspot.com/

    What do you write about?
    Our lives, Hannah, farming, family

Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
I looove spahgetti! And anything with chicken in it. I also love diet coke and pink lemonade...mmmmmm

  38. FUN! I thought I was going to be the weirdo by commenting on this more than a year after you posted, but clearly I am not the only weirdo.

Hi! I'm Becca and I love your twitter feed and am not someone who wishes you would post less about Gabe. I can't wait to be a mom and love seeing your love for him. I hope that didn't tip the weirdo scale :)

    · If you’re a fellow blogger: what's your URL? What do you write about? I blog very infrequently and without regularity at www.thatloudgirl.com. Mostly it's about figuring out what I want out of life, trying to become a better writer, and human being. Oh and food.

    · Food is good. What's your favorite thing to eat? OR: coffee drink of choice?
My favorite thing about food is the incredible variety and choices, so it's difficult to pick a favorite! Probably hummus though. Favorite coffee: triple tall soy latte (starbucks veteran)

Thanks for doing this! I love Delurking day!!

  39. Hi! I'm Sam. I am from Ontario, Canada(eh).

My Favorite part of each day is waking up. In the early morning because it is quiet and chill.

It would not be far to my abundance of books to say which one changed my life... I read too much..nerd

    I just started :http://cozy-corners.blogspot.com/
I write about anything, everything, but right now I am just being a whiner :p

I love food. Of any sort and I am not afraid to try new stuff. That being said I have a multitude of vegetable and fruit allergies (bummer let me tell you). So I am kinda limited.
