July is the Funnest Month EVER!

July Corniess.

I like to set goals. It's part of the list thing, I think. Somehow, it is already July and I'm sort of freaking out about it. Summer needs to last as LONG as possible.

To make the most out of this month - a month in which I'll be job-free for three! entire! weeks!, moving, and generally just sucking out every drop of summeriness from it I can - I decided to make some goals for this summer. Nothing related to work, or productivity, or even fun work (where I just made my 100th sale. Hurrah!)

Here goes!

The List O' Fun and Awesome Things for the Summery Month of July:
  • Go to the farmers market.
  • Try two new restaurants.
  • Get my nose pierced. Pray it doesn't hurt too badly.
  • Go berry picking.
  • Pack, move, unpack. Make new place pretty.
  • Sit on new front porch with lemonade or iced tea. Repeat.
  • Read two books.
  • Run twice a week.
  • Run my first 10K. Pray it doesn't hurt too badly.
  • Go on a road trip with Mike. Finally visit Asheville!
  • Go backpacking. Avoid bears.
  • Hang out with Megan & TJ.
  • Cook and bake often. Get fat.
  • Blog about five different environmental tips/stories.
  • Write a letter to someone.
  • Go for a bike ride. Or several.
Our July is going to rock the pants off every other month.

What? It's not weird to say if it's true.

  1. This sounds lovely! I have just discovered that there's a farmers' market just down the street from us every Monday. I am totally going there next Monday. I'm very excited.

  2. Aw, I love this idea! I agree: July needs to be the longest month in all of humanity. Because this year is already flying by.

Also, I want to get my nose pierced this summer, too! Eeee! I'm freaking out a little. I wish I knew someone else around these parts who would go with me and get it done, too. Feel like making a trip to Cali? I will feed you and we may or may not snuggle.

  3. what a great summer-tastic list!

I love berry picking! I plan on going later this month to stock up on some fresh peaches, can't wait!

  4. I have a secret plan to get my nose pierced after the wedding. Not sure if I will follow through, but it's fun to fantasize about it. Let me know if it hurts!

  5. July is the rockinest month of all b/c it's my birth month!! hehe. It's so funny you made this list b/c I was thinking of doing the same thing but for fun things to do with my kids this month, we have to make July last b/c WHOA, 2009 is FLYIIING by!!
    Your list is awesome!!

  6. I haven't checked this blog in a long while and I just assumed you'd taken a break from writing it. Silly me.

  7. Yay! Sounds fun. Asheville, Ohio? My family has a reunion there every year in August. My great-grandmother had 16 kids and lots of her descendants come back to see each other. I hardly know anyone, but it's cool.

  8. I love your list. :] & I also love that you're going to pierce your nose, because I know that you've been wanting to do it for a long time.

  9. What a fun list! About your idea of blogging about eco-friendly tips, you might get some inspiration from this book that I read recently: It's pretty fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Have fun with your July goals! :)

  10. Where the heck did June go!? July better not do the same thing.

I got my nose pierced and it wasn't too bad at all. Just a teary eye that's it.

  11. sounds like a great month!

  12. I definitely like the goal to hang out with Megan and TJ part. I may be a bit biased though :)

There will be a Farmer's Market in Kent on Saturday when you are here. You should make a detour to run past it. Then you can buy delicious blackberries sold by the Amish farmers. Yumm.

  13. I am so totally jealous of your summer :)

  14. i've witnesses a nose piercing and it looked like it hurt.
way to go with the 10K! I can't wait to run another one.

  15. Wow, what a way to make a summer happen! Love the list, yay for baking and nose piercing! Hope it doesn't hurt too much :)

  16. you're going to love your nose piercing! it doesn't hurt too badly either:)

  17. I love the baking idea!!!

I still can't believe it's already July either! Where did the year go?

  18. Aww, what a cute post! I love having goals and trying to reach them - and you have perfect fun ones :)

  19. Good plan! I would reconsider the nose-piercing-project though... And yessss, summer must be as long as possible!

I found your blog a few weeks ago, and right now I have trouble working because I cant stop reading it. Sometimes you so much speak from my heart that Im afraid I will have to leave more comments even though we dont know each other.

Wish you all the best, and please keep up the good writing!

  20. Sounds like you've got a lot of plans. And you have reminded me...I totally need to get back to running!

  21. Giggling at "Go backpacking. Avoid bears." Yes, please don't get mauled by a bear--that would definitely take the fun out of the month :)

Enjoy your funtime and report back on all of the fun-ness!!

  22. Great list, sounds loads of fun! Congratulations on your 100th sale!

  23. YEAH FOR JULY!! Sounds like it is going to be an AWESOME month for you girl! We are going on a 3-week road trip out west. CAN'T FREAKING WAIT.

  24. I love goals too. And lists. :) Happy July!

  25. I love this list - it doesn't seem too big, unmanageable, or stressful! It's inspiring me to write my own. And, I say GO FOR THE PIERCING! My nose has been pierced for - oh wow, this is a long time - 12 years now. I love it. It's pretty fast & easy, not too painful. Good luck - post pictures!

  26. Goals for your blogging-what a novel idea! I will have to try that.

  27. Sounds like such a wonderful list - I'm in the process of making one for myself right now, it's so exciting to have things to check off a list...especially when they're things that make you happy, not drained!

  28. July IS going to be the best month ever! My little sister gets married, I get to go BACK to Chicago, and Minnesota summers are just the BEST anyway. Happy July!

  29. hey let me know if you go through with the nose ring, since i've always wanted one myself. i love your lists :)
